"Hi! I'm Lisa, and I am passionate about writing, speaking, and communicating well. I have a BA in Written English with a minor in journalism and an MFA in Creative Writing, focusing on creative nonfiction. I am also certified in homeschooling methods, journaling, digital citizenship, student engagement, online classroom management, and diverse learning environments.

I worked as a magazine editor for ten years, empowering writers of all ages and genres. In academia, I worked as college professor for five years, teaching Public Speaking and Foundations of English, walking students through the writing process to help them polish and present their words and ideas well. I have also tutored students grades 8 - doctorate level for the last six years, helping them with essays, creative writing, reports, business writing, and resume writing.

Every student has writing strengths and weaknesses. I help build on those strengths and overcome weaknesses using writing tools, core concepts, kindness, and compassion. I believe sound writing skills improve grades in all subjects, and increase potential for success far into the future. My goal is to empower writers as much as possible so they can communicate well when they write and speak for better connection and understanding.
