"I have a broad knowledge of history that I’ve been working to expand ever since I was young. I pursued a rigorous education in many fields of history, getting a 5 on the World History and European History APs, 800s on the World History and US History SAT Subject Tests, and a degree in history from New York University. I worked for a time at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History making educational videos to help train history teachers.
I also have substantial experience in both creative and academic writing. My second major at NYU was Film & Television, with a focus on screenwriting. Several of my short stories have been published in historical fiction anthologies by Paradox Books. My history studies involved writing academic papers on topics including the emergence of medieval communes in the Holy Roman Empire and the role of Enlightenment ideology in the Haitian Revolution.
I am comfortable teaching students of all ages-- my youngest student was 7 and my oldest was 94. I worked at a summer school teaching classes of 3rd-9th graders for three years and I have over 200 hours of experience as a tutor. Much of my tutoring work has been preparing students for standardized tests, including the APs, Regents, and SAT Subject Tests.
