"Greetings! My name is Leonard, but I usually go by Scott. I'm a New York City native, and am proud to be part of such a global and inspiring city. All my life I've had many interests, leading my father to refer to me as a 'Renaissance Man'. My mother is an artist and my father an inventor and I like to think I've inherited the best traits from each. After majoring in Chinese Language and minoring in Biology and Philosophy in undergrad, I got my MA in Linguistics at the graduate level. I've also pursued many other interests over the years, most notably computer programming (I'm learning JavaScript). As a hobby I also draw and paint, as well as play a little saxophone and guitar. I have about eight years of experience tutoring one-on-one and I currently teach two classes as an Adjunct Professor at St. John's University in New York City.

Though I have not majored in mathematics in school I have studied it throughout my education and continue to do so. I completed two semesters of calculus when I was a junior in High School and one semester of Linear Algebra as a senior, as well as studying statistics in Graduate School, and the interface between music and mathematics in College. When I tutor math I find that it's most beneficial to show students why a given equation o" less...
