"I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and attended graduate school in aquatic ecology. While taking classes for my doctorate, I tutored undergraduate students in calculus, biology, and science and policy writing. I also taught at an independent high school specializing in college preparatory curriculum. The primary mathematics classes I taught while working there included AP Calculus, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and algebra. The primary science classes I taught were AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, and physics. I also taught writing and Spanish language classes.

Whether guiding climbing, backpacking, or mountaineering in the outdoors, coaching a mountain bike race team, or teaching academic subjects to students, I have discovered that I have an ability to meaningfully connect with others. I am able to grasp the larger picture of a given topic, and then use that perspective to bring the details into readily understandable focus for learners.
