"Hi! I'm Madi! I will graduate magna cum laude with honors from Berry College in December of 2023 with a degree in communications with a specialization in public relations. While I love communications, my passion is educating. I have spent the last two years student-directing a first-year seminar program for first-year college students. I have worked extensively with the academic success center at Berry to learn how to teach practical study tips and to tutor in a peer-to-peer environment. I have also taught in a college classroom helping students put study habits and time management into place. I have had countless professors and teachers imprint a love for learning in me, and I want to do that for other students as well. I am constantly helping to tutor students in my classes at Berry and did the same throughout high school. In high school, a few teachers used me as their student aid and used me as a tutor for the other students in my class. I have also spent time teaching elementary-aged students in a small group setting as well as free-lance one-on-one tutoring for elementary students.
I am happy to help coach and teach subjects like writing, ELA, public speaking, argument and debate, journalism, and more. I am currently writing a thesis, so I have plenty of experience in academic writing as well as academic research. I have worked in curriculum development at Berry for the first-year seminar program. All of my tutoring is based on student development theories because I believe tutoring is more than just helping students learn a subject. Tutoring is helping students learn to learn well and aiding in the preparation for any other academic challenges they may face in their academic careers. I can't wait to tutor you!" less...
