"Hello everyone!

My name is Marissa and I graduated with honors from Columbia University with my Masters in Early Childhood General and Special Education and from Clark University with my Masters in International Education. I have been an educator for the past decade, both domestically and abroad, specializing in ELL, ESL, and foundational math skills. I earned a Fulbright Scholarship to teach in Thailand and in South Africa, focusing on cultivating English reading and writing skills. I am also certified in TESOL. I am currently a lead teacher in the city!

My love for teaching began from a young age. As a little girl, I use to give lessons to my stuffed animals and baby brother, writing on a whiteboard in my squiggly cursive. When I started high school, I became a homework helper for the community elementary school and knew that I wanted to become a teacher then. I started tutoring a few students from the elementary school who were referred to me by teachers who had noticed a difference in their learners' reading abilities.
