My writing has won awards in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction and appeared in numerous publications including three articles and an essay in Southern Writers in 2016. I've published in The Oak Ridger, The Oak Ridge Observer, the Knoxville News-Sentinel, The Writer, Blue Ridge Country, Mature Living, Ford Times, The Notebook and numerous other publications.
I am the recipient of the Oak Ridge Arts Council Award in 2013 for contribution to the literary arts as one of the founders of the Tennessee Mountain Writers Conference, now in its 30th year (2017). I was one of 20 writers included in the book Tennessee Women of Vision and Courage, published in 2012, for my entry about nuclear scientist Elizabeth Rona.
I was editor of the first Tennessee Writers Alliance anthology A Tennessee Landscape, People, and Places (1996); a poetry anthology Remember September Prompted Poetry in (2010); and In God’s Hand anthology published in (2017).
