"Hello, my name is Rachel! I graduated summa cum laude from Pennsylvania State University with my bachelor's in science and a minor in psychology. I am a current student in a Master's program at Southern California University of Health Sciences for genetics and human genomics. I spent two years in college as a writing tutor, and three semesters as a general chemistry teaching assistant.

One of my favorite ways to teach is to find ways to make the material digestible to each student. Learning is a spectrum, and everyone learns in their own individual ways. I find that embracing this aspect gives each student the most opportunity to succeed and learn the material. I use examples and practice materials as strong resources for learning sciences, and real-world examples that aid in visualization and application of concepts. Students that seek writing help will receive question-based sessions, with prompting for their answers and ideas. I typically write outlines based on these conversations, and write down points of discussion for them to continue with their own work.
