"I am Charlotte, and I have my Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University and my Master of Science degree from University of Maryland. I fell in love with teaching and tutoring after a career in Environmental Science. I realised that it was important for me to work closely with other people and to help them reach their full potential. I enjoy inspiring students about a subject and helping them to develop their own voice in their writing and their own strategies to learn better.
I have been both tutoring and teaching English, EAL, Writing classes and General Science for over fifteen years. I have tutored students of all ages, helping them to improve their confidence along with their understanding of coursework and performance in exams. I have lived abroad for many years so I understand how to adapt my teaching style to the culture and needs of each of my students. I have also specialised in working with students with learning differences and students whose first language is not English.
I believe it is important to develop a good rapport with each of my students, through patience and humour. I recognise that each person requires a different approach to help them excel in their learning.
