"Nice to meet you! I'm Charlotte, a final-semester senior at Yale University. I’ve maintained a 3.92 GPA while pursuing a degree in English. I scored a perfect 36 on the ACT, earned a 5 on over 9 AP exams, and have taken advanced Latin courses at Yale, receiving A’s. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for teaching and mentoring, and I’m excited to help students achieve their academic goals in a way that’s engaging and tailored to their unique needs.
I’ve worked with students preparing for AP English, AP Latin, and several other AP exams, where I break down challenging concepts, practice exam strategies, and use past exam questions to simulate test conditions. This targeted approach has not only boosted their confidence but also helped many exceed their score goals.
I have a year of experience mentoring students one-on-one as they write their college essays. I love working with them to find their voice and tell their story in a way that feels authentic and compelling. They have gained acceptance to schools such as Duke, UChicago, and UNC-Chapel Hill.
In my ACT tutoring, I focus on breaking down concepts into approachable steps and then reinforcing them with plenty of practice problems. For Latin, I combine grammar review with translation exercises to make this beautiful (but tricky!) language feel more accessible.
Outside of formal tutoring, I’ve also worked closely with younger age groups. As an oldest sibling, I’ve spent years helping with homework and mentoring. Additionally, I worked as an associate at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School’s summer camps, where I led 3-day camps for children ages 4–12 and supervised students up to age 13 in after-school programs. These experiences taught me how to connect with kids of all ages and adapt my teaching style to their specific needs." less...
