"Hi! I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting from the California Institute of the Arts and my Bachelor of Fine Arts in English from San Francisco State University. I have several years of experience as an Instructor of English Language Arts and Creative Writing for K-12 and adult students.

When I was a child my eldest sister often brought me to literary events such as poetry readings and I learned that when writers thoughtfully share their ideas and their lived experiences in their writing I am given new ways of understanding the world and taking action in my daily life.

My earliest memories of recognizing the power of the written word fuels my compassionate encouragement of my students as they develop and improve their English Language Arts skills (speaking, reading and writing) and or their Creative Writing skills so that they can effectively express their unique lived experiences and revitalize their communities." less...
