"Goal-oriented, Data-driven, and Knowledgeable are three words that best describe me as an educator. I'm TerrEnce with an "e". :-) I have worked in education for over fifteen years. I've taught grades prekindergarten through 3rd grade. I currently serve as a literacy coach for all elementary grade levels.

I also have over 15 years of experience as a tutor with over 400 hours logged on Wyzant alone. I've worked with students from pre-kindergarten to high school.

My approach is holistic. I teach phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This approach allows students to master the various aspects of reading and become fluent readers.

My number one goal is to ensure that students grow. As such, when guardians request it, I start the initial session with a screener to determine specific areas to focus on. In addition, I set goals with families to measure the student's progress over time.
