"Struggling to grasp chemistry? Let me show you a fresh perspective! If you're frustrated or unsure, I have tools to make learning fun and engaging. Nervous about an exam or class? Together, we'll build strategies that will help you succeed with confidence.
With a strong foundation in chemistry education, I specialize in making complex topics accessible. I earned my bachelor’s in Chemistry from Emory University but found my true passion in teaching. I pursued a Master’s in Teaching (MAT) in Chemistry from Kennesaw State University, where I honed my skills under expert educators. I taught high school chemistry (regular, honors, AP, IB) in Atlanta and Los Angeles and specialized in ACT Science prep. I've also taught at the community college level, covering Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, and GOB. To further my knowledge, I earned a Master’s in Chemistry from Cal State LA, focusing on educational research for my thesis. Now, I teach at a large university, assisting students in General Chemistry I & II (including lab) and Survey Chemistry I, a course for pre-nursing students.
With over 11 years of teaching experience, I’ve worked with students in one-on-one and small-group settings, helping them light up with understanding. I meet each student where they are—if one explanation doesn’t click, I’ll try another approach. I love brainstorming ways to make topics clearer and more engaging. My sessions often include interactive elements like quiz games or timed drills, because learning should be both fun and effective!
I’ve taught in diverse settings—from small classrooms to large lecture halls, in hybrid and online formats. I’m also experienced with lab courses and support students in that area. I’ve worked with a wide range of students, from high schoolers to adults returning to school, and I’m passionate about helping each of them succeed." less...
