"My name is Tommy and I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). I have been a CPA for almost 35 years. I worked 30 years for the State of Michigan. For the majority of those years I was the Chief of Internal Audit for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. My years of practical application of accounting concepts have allowed me to gain a great understanding of the accounting profession and the knowledge of how to breakdown accounting concepts into everyday language for lay persons to understand. I have been tutoring students in accounting for several years with great success. I have also taught accounting at the community college level. I consider myself an expert in the fundamental principles of accounting.

My philosophy is to get my students to understand the concepts and provide them with everyday scenarios to see how it relates to what they do or encounter on a daily basis. Once the student can relate to the concept the numbers part of accounting is easy. I really enjoy working with students and seeing them understand and succeed. I am confident that I can improve a students understanding of the subject matter, improve their GPA and make this an enjoyable experience.

My years of practical application in the work world coupled with my years of tutoring experience gives me a unique perspective for what a student should know and focus on relative to the accounting concepts and the area of business and/or accounting they are pursuing.
