"Learning to read at 18 years old in 1996, while still at an elementary level, changed my life forever. This transformative experience ignited a passion for literacy and a deep drive to help others overcome similar challenges. Over the past 28 years, I’ve earned three degrees—a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from Cardinal Stritch University, a Master’s in Education from DePaul University, and a Bachelor’s in Human Services from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. These achievements reflect both my journey and commitment to empowering others through education.

My specialization lies in decoding complex words, spelling, and pronunciation, rooted in years of studying the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary (11th edition). I’ve developed unique methods that integrate this expertise with evidence-based literacy strategies, particularly beneficial for students with dyslexia or other learning challenges. My teaching experience spans one-on-one instruction, classroom settings, and curriculum development, helping learners of all ages build confidence and achieve measurable growth.

As a former Reading Faculty member at Madison Area Technical College and through my work as a co-creator of the Doctor Dyslexia Dude graphic novel series, I’ve combined personal experience with professional knowledge to create impactful learning experiences.
