"Hey there!

I'm Dean, and I just finished a PhD in Physics from the University of Washington (3.8/4.0), where I spent 6 years teaching college- and graduate-level physics and math. Prior to that, I did my Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Math at New York University (3.9/4.0, magna cum laude), where I also worked 10–20 hours a week as a tutor at the University Learning Center.

I've taught over 1,000 unique students, covering a wide variety of subjects. For physics, I've taught introductory college physics (theoretical and experimental, including UW tutorials and more traditional programs), mathematical physics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, electronics, optics, biophysics, and even first-year graduate-level classes. I haven't taught high-school physics, but I guarantee you'll reach college-level physics in no time as I teach you how to problem-solve and develop your physics intuition. For math, I've taught algebra, calculus (including multivariable), linear algebra, differential equations, complex analysis, probability, and statistics. You and math don't have to be enemies anymore! I promise!

Students have given rave reviews across the board. Ask my pals at the University Learning Center—they'll tell you that I always had the most students asking for me at the front desk. The reason? I focus on guiding my students to a deep level of understanding—not by lecturing at them, but by teaching them how to discover the truth with their own ingenuity!

Here are some things I WILL NOT do: Solve your homework for you. Tell you to memorize things. Make you cry.

Here's what I WILL do: Personalize my teaching strategy to fit your needs. Make you feel like a genius when complex topics become crystal clear in your head. Teach you how to learn and problem-solve. Bring empathy and fun to our sessions. Celebrate your wins! Give you the confidence to excel in your classes!

Let's get learning!" less...
