"I have been helping students reach their fullest potential in English Language Arts for over 15 years. In addition to teaching group classes in Reading and Writing, I offer one-on-one tutoring for students in Grades 5-12. My areas of expertise include Advanced Placement English Language and Composition; Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition; SAT Reading/Writing; and College Application Essay Writing.
After graduating with a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, I was a daily newspaper reporter in the SF Bay Area from 2001-2010. So, I know how to engage an audience with words. I launched my own tutoring practice in 2011 so that I could share my passion for Reading and Writing with the next generation. I love helping students find their own unique narrative voices!
Students I have mentored through the college application essay-writing process have been admitted to UC Berkeley, UCLA, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, Carnegie Mellon, University of Chicago, Rice, Georgetown, Boston University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, NYU, Case Western, Notre Dame, and other top schools.
I offer in-person classes at my site in Pleasanton, California, and I also welcome students from all over the country in my online classes.
