"Thank you for reading my bio. Over the years, I have acquired the ability of explaining technical and social topics to a child or an adult. Two of the items needed for such a task are the understanding of the essence of the topic, and the awareness of how the student views the world. Then the subject can be explained by using proper analogies and language that the student is familiar with. Teaching is a communication process, and human communication is highly symbolic. For example, “toothache” and “heartache” are similar in syntax, however, they are different considerably in meaning. Therefore, it is of great importance for the teacher to ascertain that the concepts of the lesson have been transferred successfully to the mind of the student. Mere repetition and memorization of terminology and formulae does not mean comprehension. As attributed to the well-known physicist Albert Einstein: “Any fool can know; the point is to understand.”

Having started tutoring while attending high school, I love teaching a variety of topics I know to students of different age levels. Having taught as an official tutor, teaching assistant, or a mentor at some of the well-known U.S. universities (City University of New York, The University of Virginia, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stevens Institute of Technology), I have private tutoring experience as well. The subject I have taught most often is mathematics, from elementary school to college level (up to and including differential equations and statistics), however, I have taught also other subjects from physics to graphics design.

I can assist in preparing for standard tests such as SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, and Regents.

I have been highly trained in both technical and social sciences: I have been given a Master of Science degree from MIT in Nuclear Engineering, attended classes at the Sloan School of Management and the Harvard Business School, and received various national academic prizes and an SAT II Mathematics score of 800.
