"I have a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, and practical work experience in mechanical systems, some electronics, some optics, and some chemistry. I am currently an organic farmer/gardener, a writer, and active in political processes. My background gives me insight into mathematics and a broad range of the sciences, as well as art, especially as related to various media of sculpting. Being the father of eight home-schooled children has given me the patience and insights required to help students grasp the nuances of needed knowledge of a given subject that may elude them due to any number of disparities. I have maintained a secret security clearance for over 40 years, which is still current, and is indicative of meeting requirements for a background clearance screening.

I lost my job as a test engineer in March 2013, due to the government's sequestration program, and have been unsuccessful at finding similar employment since then. It is for this reason that I am expanding my horizons with tutoring, to earn some extra money to stay off of the government dole system. I worked as the Santa Claus at Florence Mall for the last two Christmas seasons, which was quite an enjoyable experience. It included interfacing with "kids" of all ages, who wanted to have a short confidential session with Santa as a means to complete their holiday cheer. I have always enjoyed mentoring the younger people around me, whether at work, churches, or community gatherings. I have a strong sense of family, and although I have minimum of official tutoring experience as of this writing, I totally enjoy passing my accumulated knowledge to those with whom I have come into contact, assuming they have that interest also.
