I have been teaching college French for 30 years: all levels, from true beginners to advanced grammar and content courses in literature, history, and theater. I have also been tutoring adults (online and in person) and high school students. My college classes are in person, but I have been teaching online as well, both individual students and groups.

I hold an M.Phil. in European Literature from Cambridge University (UK) and a Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies from the Pennsylvania State University.

We will work on what is the most important for you (and it can be conversation, reading, grammar, literary texts or philosophy – provided it is in French, we can do it!)

A typical lesson would consist of a conversation (that becomes longer with your vocabulary growing and grammar becoming more “second nature”), a grammar section if needed, and a discussion of a reading if we work on your reading skills and/or you would like to read authentic texts in French. I can also assign you homework, if you find it helpful.

My students are not only ready for their exams and tests, they love what they are doing. We always manage to cross the "Rubicon" and move from learning as work to learning as pleasure.
