I graduated from Stanford University after completing a degree in Computer And Design Engineering. If you explore the degrees available from Stanford, you will not find this listed. That is because I proposed my own degree program to the School of Engineering to combine Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Product Design. I crafted my degree program to provide the best combination of skills to create excellent technology as a startup founder. After graduation, that is exactly what I did.

I joined a company that was struggling to get their product off the ground. My job was to synthesize what had been built, what customers needed, and what could be built with the time the company had. I was able to lead the engineering team in creating a Generative Artificial Intelligence product that sold to another company. After successfully exiting that company, I want to return to some of the most rewarding work that I have done... Teaching!

While I was in high school, I tutored STEM subjects for multiple years. During my time in college, I taught High School students in AI programs. I loved the smiles shared with students when a new concept finally "clicked" and I could see their confidence build. The nerd in me loves to dig through the weeds and technical details with students. However, I do not think that is the most important thing in making a great teacher. Creating the right environment with goals, rewards, project structure, and messaging that is right for the person I am working with is just as important as knowledge of the subject. That is my favorite part of teaching. When done best, it is a working relationship where our shared goal is increasing your ability to do great things.
