"I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education and English from Wellesley College and have several years of teaching and tutoring experience. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Reading and Literacy, with an expected graduation in spring 2025. I also hold a Massachusetts Initial License in English (grades 5-12) with Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement. Over the past several years, my education and professional experiences have helped me to hone my instructional skills and develop a strong understanding of individualized instruction and effective teaching strategies.
My teaching experience has been mostly at the secondary level. I have taught middle school students in a classroom setting as a teacher, where I utilized tailored learning strategies and interactive lessons to meet diverse student needs. My students had a 65% growth in ELA performance on the MCAS after one year. I also worked with middle school students delivering one-on-one and small-group tutoring tailored to their individual goals. I also have 3+ years of volunteering experience in which I worked one-on-one with students of all ages to prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT. Across these roles, I prioritized building positive relationships and tailoring my approach to the unique learning styles of each student.
With a background in classroom teaching, small-group instruction, and one-on-one tutoring, I bring a versatile and student-centered approach to supporting learners in the humanities. My ability to adapt to different age groups, learning environments, and individual needs makes me well-equipped to help students achieve their academic goals." less...
