I did a lot of tutoring in college and was a TA for one of my classes. Since then, besides my engineering work, I have been a ski instructor for 4 years with a PSIA level 2 cert, and I have been a substitute teacher for 1 year. I have also been teaching drum lessons for about two years.
I have been playing music since I was a kid, starting with piano, then guitar, and then finding my passion on the drums. I played jazz band all throughout college, along with percussion ensemble and swing band, playing everything from drumset to marimba to congas. I have played in many different bands, both cover and original. I also started a bluegrass band where I played guitar and sang. Drums are my main instrument though, and I am currently focused on playing metal/prog. I have studied and played jazz, blues, funk, rock, rudimental snare drum, and many other styles. I focus on precision, technique, and timing, and have a strong understanding of music theory. I like to work with students who are motivated, want to develop their skills and knowledge, and most of all love to play music!" less...
