"Hi, I'm William! I'm new to tutoring, but over the years I've discovered how much I love teaching, especially in the area of mathematics! When I was taking Pre-Calculus in high school as a Junior, I would sometime help seniors study for quizzes, and I even made a full study guide for one of the tests at one point. What I loved about doing that was simply being able to see students reach the same level of understanding as I had. Some students really struggled with that class, and I know that math especially can make even the brightest students feel simply stupid sometimes (I've been there myself), but I believe that doesn't have to be the case at all! I've also taught peers in my physics class (college and high school), I have a very solid understanding of Calculus 1 and ACT Math, and I've taken basic C++ programing. I can also teach you how to play the guitar, no matter how poorly shaped you may think your hands are!
As a tutor, I will focus first and foremost on building a fundamental understanding with my students of whatever subject they may need assistance with. I've found that when I'm struggling, it comes down to a more basic issue rather than something complicated, like having to memorize a hundred formulas. I will secondly focus on simply building a good working relationship with students and making learning as fun as possible. If desired, I offer a free 20-minute online consultation meeting, during which I can learn how best to help you and be a good resource for you.
For some reason I've always found Precalculus to be some of the easiest math there is. I took it during my Junior year of high school and since then I've had to apply parts of it in all sorts of different ways in higher level math and physics, so my understanding of it is still very fresh.
I also took both standard Physics and AP physics in high school, as well as University level physics. It's amazing how much physics lines up with pre calc and calculus. Physics is basically just the applied version of those classes to the natura" less...
