"I have worked with students for 22 years. My experience ranges from 5K to Seniors. My first teaching experience was teaching 5K. I loved it and loved to see those little ones learn to read at such an early age. After 5 years of teaching 5K, I moved to the other end of the spectrum and taught juniors and seniors college-level writing. I had very high standards for my students and, as I've always seen them do, they rose to the standards. Many times after graduating and attending college, I would have my students return and tell me that they had tested out of freshman-level English due to my class. I actually saved their parents money!! I feel I know the subject well and I have a wonderful time relating to those that I tutor. I have always had a great relationship with my students and I feel great satisfaction in filling the gap for them.

When tutoring, I take the time to see where the student is having the most problems and tackle it head-on. I model the information for them, have them attempt it, and see where the problems are. We then work together to determine the correct approach to the concept that is causing the student the most trouble. I not only have the student do that particular "problem area," but I give the student more of the same to assure myself and them that they understand how to proceed. I will never move forward if I don't feel that they understand what is before them.
