"Hi, I'm Emily! I graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Secondary Education. Through the UTeach program at my university, I was able to student teach inquiry-based mathematics lessons in real classrooms to a variety of age groups each semester of my college career. This experience gave me a passion for helping young students understand mathematics in new and unique ways, and hopefully instill in them a love for the subject as I have found in my educational career.

After graduation, I immediately took a job as a High School math teacher in Plano, Texas. I taught at a Senior High School, meaning all of my students were in either the 11th or 12th grades. I taught a variety of subjects in my 4 years as a teacher, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics. I also spent time after school tutoring students one-on-one any time they needed extra homework help or prepping for an upcoming test.
