"Hello! My name is Ziva and I love learning and teaching math! In college, I studied physics and mathematics. Along the way, I developed a love of pure mathematics, so I decided to go to graduate school. I earned a PhD in Mathematics (topology/geometry) in 2017 and taught math at Duke University and Bryn Mawr College for six years after my degree. My favorite part of being a professor was getting to work with students one-on-one and in small groups in my office because it's a lot like tutoring.
I've taught many different college math courses, from Calculus to Linear Algebra to Abstract Algebra. Further, I've been a math tutor since high school, I worked in a math tutoring center for all of college, and was a TA during graduate school. This means I've tutored math for almost 20 years!! I'm comfortable with tutoring all math courses and helping prepare for math standardized testing. I especially excel in tutoring higher level mathematics.
My goal in tutoring is to encourage and empower you to succeed! I'm happy to adapt to your learning style to find the best way to help. I think tutoring is the perfect space to make mistakes and learn from them. I'm also happy to talk about test-taking strategies and how to help test anxiety.
I look forward to working with you! Feel free to message me with any questions you might have or if you'd like to schedule a session." less...
