I have been a freelance editor and tutor since 2014.

I specialize in editing résumés, CVs, cover letters, personal statements, and application essays, but I also edit PowerPoint presentations, Master's theses, and Ph.D. dissertations.

In addition to correcting any spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors in your document, I will suggest precise and fluent revisions to any vague or awkward passages. While I do most of my editing remotely, I usually schedule two online meetings with every client: once at the start of the project, to make a note of any special requests that you have, and once when I am finished, to briefly explain my corrections and suggested revisions.

I offer tutoring in Writing, Literature, and German, and my clients are mostly college students and adults. If you book at least 4 hours per month, I will reduce my fee from $35 to $30 per hour.

1. WRITING. I can teach you to write clearly and confidently whether or not you are currently enrolled in a writing course. Please note that I do not tutor Creative Writing or English as a Second Language.

2. LITERATURE. I can help you analyze a work of literature or understand a work of literary criticism. As an assistant professor, my specialty was medieval English literature.

3. GERMAN. Whether you are a complete beginner or you already know some German, I can help you make rapid progress.

I have 9 years of experience as an assistant professor of English at the University of Michigan and Union College. I earned my A.B. in English with High Honors from U.C.
