"I have taught Spanish at the high school level. I have also held Spanish classes in my home for small groups of home-schooled children of various ages. I have also tutored students individually. I really enjoy working with a student one-on-one in order to concentrate on the areas that need improvement.

In the area of ESL tutoring, I have held classes in an Hispanic church as part of a team of volunteer teachers. In addition, I have tutored individuals through the literacy council in my community.

When a teacher loves the subject matter and enjoys interacting with students, an atmosphere of enthusiasm and encouragement is created that motivates the student to develop a more positive attitude toward a subject that may have been viewed as difficult. I believe that I can give a discouraged student a new perspective toward learning a new language.
