"Whether you are struggling in a class, dreading a deadline, or merely wish for extra academic support in the midst of this pandemic, please do not hesitate to contact me! I am a New Yorker, Bibliophile, and Byzantinist, as well as an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh and the University of St. Andrews, where I received an MSc with Distinction in Byzantine Studies and a B.A. in Medieval History, and will shortly be commencing my doctorate at Simon Fraser University.
Being a relatively recent graduate, I believe I can help those navigating the oft-confusing terrain of the college admissions process to present themselves in the best light to the institutions to which they intend to apply, as well as assist with coursework. Moreover, I understand firsthand the impact which Covid-19 and the switch to remote learning has had on students performance, and hope to offer my services and academic support where I may.
I originally had a background in creative writing (having written plays, poetry, short stories, and parts of a novel) and am a lover of the English language in general. On a more prosaic note, however, I consistently achieved marks of 95% and above in the verbal sections of standardized tests such as the SAT and GRE, and am a practiced and expert essayist due to my background as a historian. Additionally, I am an excellent copyeditor.
In addition to my training in the field and a wide scope of knowledge of history and historiography in general, I believe that it is my enthusiasm for the subject which makes me most qualified to kindle such enthusiasms in others. In addition to such high-minded concerns, however, I also have an experientially-based understanding of the ways in which historical writing is presented in an academic setting, and what is expected of students.
Whether you are struggling in a class, dreading a deadline, or merely wish for extra academic support in the midst of this pandemic, please do not hesitate to contact me." less...
