"Bonjour mes amis!
My name is Benjamin and I am here to offer help in tutoring in both French and English. After teaching for five years in the public school system, I am now the middle school French Teacher at the Gilman School.
I have lived in France for three summers (2004-2006) and have studied for six months at La Sorbonne in Paris (2012), a prestigious French University where I studied French literature. At Shippensburg University, I earned a bachelor's in French and English, graduating Summa Cum Laude and was a member of both the French and English National Honor Societies.
I am trained using the latest pedagogical theories in foreign language acquisition; I not only teach the language but I also create an authentic experience for the students so they are learning real-life vocabulary in a kinesthetic way-something books and computer programs can't offer. I am able to bring the language to life and allow students to see how French is not just a subject that they take in school. I attend yearly language teacher conferences to keep up to date with all the latest technological tools and pedagogy.
While in undergrad, I worked as the head French tutor at Shippensburg University for college students and tutored every level of French. With my accrued hours from the learning center, I was awarded Level 2 certification on the CRLA International Certification Scale of tutors. I have also taught English to French students in Paris. I am now the lead French tutor at Loyola University so I also have experience at the college level.
To further develop my ability to create more engaging lessons that cater to students with a variety of learning needs, I completed a masters in Special Education at Goucher College." less...
