"Bonjour! My name is Clara and I am a native French speaker and tutor with 6+ years of experience.

I have tutored French, English, and History students from the age of 8-58 years old. I first started my tutoring career in my freshman year of high school, helping my peers in their AP French class and planning tutoring hours that I conducted with the help of our French teacher. I then decided to expand my tutoring capacities to my ESL (English as a Second Language) peers who struggled with the English learning process. I also have always been a History nerd (and proud to be!) and took AP European History, AP World History, and AP American History throughout high school.

My teaching approach is a mirror of what methods have worked best for me. In learning French and English, I believe in conversational teaching and recreating real-life situations rather than working from a school book. I usually recommend movies, novels, articles, and music to my students to make the language learning process more fun and entertaining. I believe learning a new language is fun and exciting (and represents a lot of new opportunities), it should not be stressful nor dreadful.

My teaching approach to European History will be based on the student's needs and all students have different needs. One student might be more receptive to reading an article and another might be more receptive to viewing a recommended documentary, for example. I will accommodate to your needs and together we will find a way that works for you!
