"Bonjour à tous!" My name is Jules. I am from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), where I worked as a lawyer since 1994 and taught law since 2004 until when I have settled in the United States in 2007. I am married and have children.
My passion for languages especially the French has always been outstanding. Besides French (which is the official language in the DRC), I also speak other Congolese dialects such as Swahili, Lingala, and Tetela. My English fluency has obviously improved since I took it as a Second Language Learner and after that, I completed the highest English curriculums such as the English 1A and 1B at Santa Rosa Junior College. I am currently at my fourth semester taking the Spanish at the same College. I am proud to say today that my Spanish reading, listening, speaking, and writing has also tremendously improved. I personally believe that the little knowledge of Latin I took while being in high school has helped me a lot in the learning and command process of this language. On 12/19/2014, I earned an AA Degree in Spanish-Humanities.
Among all, French has been my preferable working language. I have been connected to it as husband is deeply attached to his wife. I started enjoying its flavor in my early childhood when I started attending kindergarten. Later, I have learned to admire it through my high school teachers; Most of them were Catholic priests of “Saint Don Bosco” from “La province de Wallonie” (Wallonia Province) in Belgium. As my French accent has been close to the native speaker’s one, I thought that going to law school was a good decision I had to make as I could smoothly speak French and write it over and over.
Being now in the US, I have thought that teaching or tutoring French could be a tremendous way of sharing my passion for the language towards other people. There are four years since I have been doing this activity and I really enjoy doing it. Since 2010, I have been French tutor at Santa Rosa Junior College. There, I have:
