You obviously are a person who believes in the power of education and investing in yourself and I hope to have the honor of assisting you in this journey. I have an extensive background in Technology with over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology field. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (Texas) with a Bachelors degree and dual majors in Mathematics and Physics. I have held and currently hold many I.T. certifications including Object Oriented Programming, Java Programming, Oracle Database Administration, Linux Administration, and Cyber Security (CISSP, GSEC, Pen Testing, ISO 27001 Auditor).

My experience as a tutor/instructor began while I was in college. For two years I worked in the college library Math Lab as a tutor and taught undergraduate physics labs for the Physics Department. After I graduated college I went into the I.T. industry and continued to have a tutoring side-business for many years teaching topics in Mathematics and Computer Programming. For the past 3 years I have been teaching Linux, Python, and Cyber Security classes once a week at a local cyber security academy for adult learners.

When I am teaching I employ several strategies to ensure the success of my student. They include having clear-cut goals, working through many examples with the students and asking questions to verify they understand the concepts, finding alternate ways to explain a topic to improve understanding, and providing positive and encouraging feedback. I am proud to say that many of my former students have gone on to have successful careers in the I.T. industry.
