"I have tutored math for Sierra College and American River College for a combined 5+ years. Nothing makes me happier than solving math and chemistry problems. Most recently, I taught nutrition at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and students voted my class in the top 5 classes required for their major. I am currently working for American River College in the Mathematics Department.

My favorite thing about tutoring is seeing that "aha" moment when a student really "gets" a concept that had eluded them before. My second favorite thing is getting to work the problems myself.

My degrees may be in nutrition, but I love math and earned A's in everything from algebra through calculus and differential equations. I am passionate about tutoring, especially with those who need extra patience. Both of the college math programs I have worked for specialize in teaching students with math anxiety and learning disabilities. If a student doesn't understand a concept explained one way, I'll find another. We work together as a team to build understanding and confidence.

While I haven't tutored chemistry as much as I've tutored math, I earned A's in college-level general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, etc. I recently helped a friend know how to tutor her son in general chemistry. That was fun!

I'm very approachable and I care very deeply that a student has a good experience with learning. I like to find out how a student is being taught in their class so that I can start with some of the same techniques. There are different ways to work problems, and I like to find the ways that are right for you!
