"I've been in education for over 11 years, and, most of that time was spent serving as an English and History teacher. I'm currently an assistant principal but I want to get back to doing what I love - working 1:1 with students. When I taught, students said I made learning very fun and pushed them to be their best selves. I love building strong relationships with students and helping them with academic skills to be more successful and confident. I'm excellent at making the work relatable and interesting to students. We'll learn a lot together and also laugh a lot.
I love, love (did I say love?) reading. I taught English for 7 years and now I coach teachers to make English instruction stronger for all students. I've taught and coached all middle school grades of ELA and Writing. I'm very familiar with the AP Literature exam and Common Core State Exams. ELA, to me, is a door to the most brilliant ideas and adventures.
History is my bread and butter. I was a history and politics major in college. I taught AP US History classes, World History and American history as a teacher. I am very well-versed with historical thinking skills. I'm a huge history nerd and want to make you one too!
