"Hi, my name is Karan! I am a General Surgery resident physician. I graduated from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. I completed a BS in Biology and Psychology from SUNY College at Old Westbury and an MS in Interdisciplinary biological and physiologic sciences from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. Throughout high school and well into my graduate education I have been tutoring and mentoring my peers and colleagues in various subjects such as algebra, geometry, biologic sciences, and mentoring on getting into medical school, MCAT prep, and career planning.

One of the main reasons I am passionate about tutoring and mentoring is that I used such resources throughout my pathway to success and would like to give back, in the same manner, someone had done for me. I enjoy being able to share my way of learning, which to some is unconventional but may make the difference between you memorizing topics to actually understanding the information to apply it even in situations where you don't know the answer.

As an active science researcher, it is imperative that I understand all aspects of science topics in order to allow me to think critically for my research projects. This allows me to be confident in tutoring and mentoring in these subjects. My experience as a medical student who has successfully taken and passed, on the first attempt, USMLE STEP 1 and 2, COMLEX 1 and 2, and my educational pathway with a basis in scientific research with a Masters of Science forced me to understand material on a level beyond what is taught or expected in school.
