"Hello, I'm Jennifer! I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with honors as a Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development major and am currently a Genetic Counseling Master's student at UMN training to become a genetic counselor. Teaching others is an activity that I have enjoyed going back to high school, where I began tutoring students in science subjects and writing (I even taught violin lessons on the side). With my aunt in Korea being an English teacher, I also participated in opportunities where I could provide conversational English tutoring and develop novel lesson plans. My interest in helping teach others carried over into college, where I have had over 3 years of biology teaching assistant experience and counting, in addition to mentorship experiences through campus student organizations-- I have found great enjoyment out of pursuing opportunities that allow me to directly impact students' trajectories and see them grow as learners. This is what has influenced me to continue my participation in teaching and mentoring activities in graduate school, and seek external opportunities for tutoring.

My main area of expertise is Genetics and Biology, and I welcome requests for tutoring geared towards Biology subjects at the collegiate and high school level. Another one of my strengths is in English and Writing-- I can offer proofreading and writing guidance, and am able to assist with scientific writing. As a native Korean speaker with proficiency and experience with helping first-time Korean language learners at the collegiate level, I can also help with Korean language-learning at the Beginner level.
