"Teaching genetics and molecular biology is my passion and I take pride in doing it well. I am a licensed, board certified genetic counselor with a master's degree in medical genetics and a post-graduate diploma in science and biology teaching. Knowledge is power, whether you are a student, a healthcare provider, a health-conscious member of the public, just interested in the miracle of DNA, or a patient facing hard news about a genetic diagnosis or confusing answers about genetic risk.

Genetics is complex. My special skill is understanding which part is causing confusion or challenge, and clarifying the mystery right from that point in a simple-to-understand way. For example, I made up this little rhyme for explaining triplet codons and frameshift mutations:

I'm DNA and I'm OCD.
