"Education of future citizens could not be more important. Too often science is taught by those who don’t love it and that can easily transmit to the students. Obviously STEM-literacy is incredibly important to the future of our society and the innovation which sets the US apart from most of the rest of the world. I have worked with a myriad of students from all backgrounds and experiences. Every new student teaches me something new. I strive to incorporate these experiences into my courses by giving students many different explanations to describe various phenomena. Geology, in particular, is the study of where we all live and will give you a deeper understanding of your landscape and the processes responsible.
