"Hi I’m Emily! I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science. Although I have my teacher certification in elementary education, I have a strong emphasis in high level math. I was a member of Mu Alpha Theta which is a math honors society for college students. I have had a love for math since the 3rd grade.
My interest in teaching/tutoring started when my friends in high school began asking me for help in their math classes. Since then, I have been employed to tutor by several local tutoring agencies, after-school programs, and also have tutored independently. I mainly focused on high school math, ACT and SAT tutoring. After getting my degree, I taught in a public elementary school for a few years, which was a great experience, but I had a desire to work more one on one with students. I began teaching at a private school that used an individualized curriculum and worked there for 15 years teaching Pre Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. I love the individualized approach to learning. I believe in individualization, which allows the students to work at their own ability level and progress with confidence.
I would be thrilled to design specific plan for your child in math or help with homework so they can quickly make progress. I am easy to get in touch with and I respond quickly. Contact me if you have any specific questions or schedule a lesson today!" less...
