"Hi there! I’m Alexandra Guido, a passionate and experienced math educator dedicated to making mathematics accessible, meaningful, and empowering for every learner. My philosophy is simple: math is for all; with the right approach, the right support, and a commitment to understanding each student’s unique needs, every student can succeed in math. My goal: to help students build confidence and deepen understanding.
As a Private Math Tutor, I’ve provided highly customized support in everything from basic math fluency to calculus, statistics, and test preparation (SAT, ACT, AP, IB). Whether a student is struggling with foundational skills or seeking enrichment and challenge, I create engaging, supportive sessions that meet them where they are.
As an IB Math Teacher and Curriculum Writer, I taught and created inquiry-based lessons that emphasized real-world applications, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding. I am especially proud of the welcoming, student-centered learning environment I built—one where all students, regardless of background or previous experiences with math, felt valued and capable.
I hold a B.A. in Mathematics and Education from SUNY Geneseo and an M.S. in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology from SUNY Albany, where I focused on using innovative tools and strategies to enhance student engagement and learning.
Above all, I believe that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to learning math. Every student has their own story, learning style, and pace. My role as a tutor is to listen, adapt, and guide—to help each learner not just succeed in math, but feel successful.
If you’re looking for a tutor who will meet you or your student with patience, creativity, and a commitment to growth, I’d love to connect. Let’s find your path to math confidence—together." less...
