"Hello prospective students! I'm Ke Lin, a language tutor and social dance teacher. I hold BAs in Russian and Linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh, and an MA in Slavic Linguistics from the Ohio State University. Currently as a Ph.D. candidate, my research focuses on language perception, speech convergence, and linguistic accommodation.

Teaching foreign languages is my passion. I have taught Russian and Chinese at the university level in the United States, in addition to working as a private tutor. Furthermore, I have taught ESL/EFL in diverse settings, including Russia, the United States, and China, catering to students ranging from grade school to adults.

When it comes to my teaching style, I adapt to various approaches, including the communicative approach (immersing students in the target language), task-based language learning, and the structural approach. I am well-versed in designing custom curricula, drawing upon a wide array of resources, including textbooks and authentic materials such as media sources in the target language. In one-on-one settings, I make it a priority to incorporate authentic materials from the target language's culture, and tailoring them to match the unique interests and goals of my students.

In the realm of dance, I've immersed myself in ballroom and social partner dancing since 2014. Since 2014, I've competed in collegiate and amateur competitions across the country, specializing in Latin and Standard styles. I can teach International styles (Latin: Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive; Standard: Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, and Foxtrot) up to the Silver level. As for social dances, I have experience teaching Salsa and Bachata.
