"I have received a Bachelor's degree from UCLA and a Ph.D. from Georgetown University. As an undergraduate, at UCLA, I tutored incoming international students who needed to improve their English. As a graduate student, at Georgetown University, I continued helping newly arriving international students with their English and taught any of them who were interested in being tutored in Chemistry.

Most recently, I taught English at a private school in Bethesda, Maryland for five years. The school was called English-Now and was associated with the International Education Development. At English-Now, I tutored Japanese and Spanish speaking students. They included all ages, from grade-school up to college and a few of them were doing research at the National Institute of Health and/or were diplomats at their respective embassies.

Throughout my academic life, two fields of education fascinated me that, at first glance, seemed incompatible.

These domaines were chemistry and language.

Both disciplines have their strength and beauty in combining simple components into magnificent structures.

Chemistry binds individual molecules and forms compounds that are essential for life on our planet.

Language assembles words in order to form sentences, paragraphs and essays that can convey powerful messages." less...
