"Hello! My name is Claire P. and I am a current senior at Georgetown University majoring in International Politics! I have experience tutoring and teaching students of all ages, and am more than happy to help you! While I have a background teaching in many different fields, my specialties are College Prep (both test and essay), English (grade school and TOEFL), and Spanish.

I have worked for different prominent teaching organizations, such as Teach for America and Education USA. With Teach for America, I tutored elementary and middle school students in Math for a year, helping them to regain skills lost to COVID. With EducationUSA, I lead a selective English Club that helps students aged 16-30 prepare for the TOEFL to attend university in the United States. I have also been selected to help mentor peers many times while at Georgetown. I was chosen to mentor a group of high school students sponsored by Georgetown, giving them college advice and essay help due to my abilities and scores that got me into Georgetown. I also was chosen to be a Teaching Assistant for a freshman seminar to help integrate them into the college workload.

I also have a multitude of experiences teaching Spanish. I have working proficiency in the language, and was handpicked as a tutor for my peers at Georgetown to obtain the same level. I also have experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level, taking over a classroom for a semester when the language program was cut due to COVID.

My tutoring style is tailored to each student’s needs, evaluating their current skills and identifying target areas for improvement. I then take learning at the student’s pace to ensure full comprehension, checking in to ensure that they are taking steps to improvement.
