"As a graduate of Georgia Tech, I understand that hard work can overcome so many academic issues. Hard work alone though, sometimes isn’t enough. Having detailed steps to follow & an understanding of the “why” behind a concept can be another benefit to academic success. I also have noticed a direct correlation between a student’s organization & neatness and their grades in math. I strive to help students stay neat & organized, which will help them in every class. I love the “light bulb” moments of understanding I see in the students I tutor.

I am currently teaching Algebra 2 at a local private school. I have taught middle & high school math in a classroom setting for 8 years, and I have tutored numerous students in middle & high school math over the last 20 years, including pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, and geometry. I have had the privilege of homeschooling my 4 kids for the last 20 years. I love getting the students actively involved in the learning process through games, competitions & collaboration. I find that leading students step by step to figure out the problems on their own provides the most lasting understanding of the concepts.
