"Hello! I'm Alex, a graduate of the University of Houston with a B.A. in World Literature with specializations in the German and Spanish languages. I gained a firm grasp of the structures of both languages and won several awards for outstanding achievement, and also studied for two semesters at the Philipps-Universität Marburg in Marburg, Germany.

My tutoring experience has been focused on teaching absolute beginners of all ages, from small children to seniors, preferably one-on-one and often online. For those starting the language with no prior experience, my first objective is to help the student become comfortable with the sounds and pronunciation of the language. For the first few sessions I focus solely on oral practice, building vocabulary and organically introducing grammatical concepts through speaking and listening. Afterwards, I progress to the written language. I can also develop individualized lesson plans based on a student's particular interests or needs.

I'm able to help struggling students who have already had some experience with the language, and can focus on common areas of difficulty, such as grammatical moods and declensions. I'm also experienced at literary analysis in both German and Spanish, and can proofread writing assignments.
