"Hello! I'm Ryley, a current MSGC student at Keck Graduate Institute. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Agnes Scott College. During my time in undergrad I individually tutored middle school and high school students in science, ACT and SAT prep, and debate. My students saw increased confidence in their testing and public speaking skills and grade improvements in their science courses. I also tutored fellow college students in both group and individual settings in the subjects of general biology, general chemistry, genetics, and molecular biology. All of my students whose goals were grade improvement saw at least a 5 point increase in their grades over the course of our time together.

After my time in undergrad, I worked as a molecular biology researcher at USC Norris Cancer Center where I developed knowledge and experience in wet lab techniques, presenting at academic conferences, and publishing scientific articles. After my time in research I applied and matched to Keck Graduate Institute's Masters of Science in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling program and am currently in my last year of the program.

My teaching philosophy begins and ends with goal setting. I believe that every student has the ability to succeed as long as they know what success looks like for them. Whether their goal is increasing grades, feeling more confident in a subject, reducing testing anxiety, or anything else, I work with students to make sure their educational needs are being met. As a former talented and gifted student, I have even worked with students who already have perfect grades, but do not feel challenged in their current coursework to reignite their passion for learning.
