"Hello guys, gals, and non-binary pals! I'm Stuart, a graduate with way too much time and educational enthusiasm who wants to help you excel in traditionally difficult classes. I received my B.A. in Biochemistry from the College of Wooster in 2021 and my M.S. in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in 2025. Throughout my college experience, I was a teaching assistant in Genetics and Computational Biology. I hosted guided review sessions, weekly office hours for homework aid, and flexible 1-on-1 video sessions for those with odd schedules. Unofficially, I helped several of my classmates study for and pass Organic Chemistry, which was the weeding class for most Chemistry and Biology Majors.
The concepts I enjoyed learning about most were those that were almost too incredible to be true. How chemistry becomes biochemistry, how biochemistry becomes biology, and how biology lets us experience the world around us. These are big, heavy, and difficult concepts, and people will inevitably struggle with them. My goal, as a tutor, is to see my students through these concepts so that they can apply them to real world problems (you know, like tests and exams)! My teaching style reflects this focus on earth-shattering concepts; students will work towards understanding the broad concepts first, then applying those concepts in specific circumstances.
I am willing to meet with students in person or over the internet. For long-term students, a course syllabus would greatly help align the tutoring with the learning objectives of the class. I will respond to tutoring requests within 24 hours, and appointments will be scheduled no more than two weeks in advance. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least two hours before the scheduled time. I will do my best to accommodate times if something does come up! I will provide notes that I write up to my students at the end of a lesson, but I will not complete a student’s homework for them." less...
