"¡Hola! I have over 20 years' experience teaching Spanish at the high school and college level. I delight in finding ways to explain language to people to get them to truly understand it, using fresh techniques and examples to get students to see the some of the most difficult grammar points at work in English and apply that knowledge to Spanish in ways they can remember and use. Direct and indirect object pronouns? Ser vs. estar? Preterite vs. imperfect? Prepositions? I have answers to help you with all of that. Many of my students have gone on to work and live in Spanish speaking countries and nothing makes me happier than seeing my students succeed.

I can also offer structured language classes for any level, conversation practice and editing help in both English and Spanish. I have intermediate-level knowledge of French and Italian and can help speakers of those languages understand Spanish or even offer basic classes in French, Italian or contrasted Romance languages.

I'm also happy to offer help with linguistics, Spanish history, Spanish literature or painting (I was once a research scholar at the Prado in connection with the National Endowment for the Humanities programs for teachers). My research has often been about the role of religion in Spain, and so I'm happy to talk about mysticism and theology as well.
